Waiheke Whisky is proud to present our second public release, Dog Years. This tasting set includes three 50ml bottles of our award-winning single malt whiskies and a sample of our new make spirit. As opposed to our first release, all expressions are non-peated.
The Sweetwater (41% ABV)
5-year old, non-peated ale malt. Ex-STR french oak and bourbon cask.
Dyad Chardonnay (46% ABV)
7-year old, non-peated distillers malt. Ex-bourbon cask finished in a wet fill Chardonnay barrel from Mud Brick Vineyard.
Cantankerous (48% ABV)
7-year old, non-peated triple barrel. Ex-virgin American oak, ex-bourbon cask, ex-Australian Muscat cask.
Non-Peated New Make Spirit (45% ABV)
Gladfields NZ Malt, non-peated, fresh from the still.
All three of the aged expressions have won medals in blind tastings.
The pack contains a limited-edition collectors bookcase box, poster and tasting mat, along with a virtual tasting video. You'll also have priority access to purchase the 700ml bottle release of The Sweetwater and
Dyad Chardonnay.
Why Dog Years?
We like to think of the rapid maturation of our whisky in 'Dog Years' compared to some of the big age statements you might traditionally see.
Whisky ages differently here on Waiheke Island due to the huge temperature and pressure changes, some of our barrels experience up to 15% angel share!
